Olga Kornienko - Corresponding Secretary

Olga Kornienko is a co-owner of a small online digital media security business. She originally got involved with dogs when her dad brought home a fuzzy little orange Chow Chow puppy, named Chester. She was 14; he was her intro into dogs. Chester, Olga says, was “not a breed one would think of for a first time dog owner; but he was the best first dog.”

Olga got into dog sports with her current dog, Pinot the PBGV (Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen). She was looking for something to do with Pinot that resembled the breed’s original purpose. Nose Work fit the scent hound’s needs wonderfully. And Pinot’s breeder, who is a wonderful source of information about the breed and dogs in general, pulled her into Conformation.

Olga heard about PCOTC from a friend who used to train at the club while she lived in NY. Olga says, “Once we started taking FM classes, I saw how much all of the people involved with the club love and care about all of the dogs. It also introduced me to a plethora of the wonderful dog sports. Becoming a member of the club was an easy decision, since it allowed me to give back to the club as well as continue to learn about all of the things one can achieve with their dogs.”

Pinot introduced Olga to the world of Nose Work and Conformation. He has earned a Nose Work 2 and a Grand Championship titles. Otherwise, Pinot loves being a pet, while sunning himself on the couch or playing fetch.

For Olga, becoming a board member seemed like the next step in doing her part to make sure the club continues to flourish. While taking Nose Work, she watched dogs come out of their shells to become confident, self assured and independent... She wants “to do everything I can to promote and support the club, that can have such a positive effect in a dog’s life. I find it rewarding to contribute to a club that has such diversity of the classes it offers to new dog owners, as well as those who wish to see their dogs thrive in activities in their chosen sport.”
